My camera broke before getting to take pictures of and record this delicious cocktail, but the recipe is yummy none the less. So, I am posting it anyway, because I can not resist sharing it with you all, and I probably won’t get my camera back from the lovely insurance people for a bit 😫. I hope you all like it! In the mean time, enjoy the photo above of something that I did not make, but looks yummy and pumpkin-y! Mmmmm lol. Photo by Toa Heftiba on Unsplash
It’s Thanksgiving prep time and you’re looking at all your pumpkin related recipes realizing… you’re gonna have a lot of pumpkin puree leftover when this is all said and done. Seriously, does no one sell small cans of pumpkin puree? And why do so many recipes need such a tiny amount? What’s up with that? Lol
Well, don’t worry, if you are having people over for Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving and are looking for a delicious way to use that leftover Pumpkin Puree, I’ve got you covered –> Enter Brandy Alexander.
In case you’ve never heard of a Brandy Alexander, it’s a very simple but tasty cocktail, especially if you like creamy or milky cocktails. This version, however, is my take on a Pumpkin Spice Latte and Brandy Alexander remix. I’m tempted to call this a Pumpkin Spice Brandy-xander, but then no one would get it lol. Guys, this recipe is SUPER easy and really yummy… I’m not a huge Pumpkin Spice fan and I don’t do dairy that isn’t cooked in food (I’m just weird about milk for some reason lol) and even I find this drink delightful. Here’s what you’ll need for one cocktail:
1 oz pumpkin puree (NOT pumpkin pie filling)
1.5 oz brandy
1 oz heavy cream
1/4-1/2 oz of maple syrup
A dash of Pumpkin Pie Spice
A bit of cinnamon to garnish
So here’s the deal, remember… this is a recipe that is supposed to help use up that left over puree, and right now that 1 oz above is looking lonely. So, if you’re making this for a bunch of friends or family just multiply the recipe by the amount of people you are making drinks for. Making 6 drinks? No problem, just use 6 oz of pumpkin puree. See, I told you it wouldn’t go to waste 😀 ;). Just make sure to make adjustments for a mixing container that fits more than one drink :).
To make this drink, it’s super easy. All you need is a bar shaker. Don’t have a shaker? No worries, a good (non-leaking) mason jar will do the trick with no problem.
- Fill shaker or mason jar half way with ice.
- Add puree, brandy, heavy cream, maple syrup, and pumpkin spice.
- Shake super duper well.
- Like really well 🙂 😉
- Strain drink into glass leaving ice out of the final product (I used a Martini glass, but really any glass will do the trick. The drink should fill to the top with no problem)
- Sprinkle just a hint of cinnamon for decoration
- Enjoy!! 😀
I really think you guys are gonna love this cocktail. It’s creamy, it’s cold, it’s pretty and (most of all, for some of you PSL lovers) it’s pumpkin flavored, yessss!
If you guys love this idea and end up giving it a try, take a picture and let me know, I’d love to share it on twitter or Instagram.
What other ways do you add more pumpkin to your life this time of year? Have any good uses for the rest of the giant can they sell at the store? Lol! Feel free to share down below! :).
Until next time
